Potato cheese balls

Both Potato and cheese are kids favorite. When we prepare a dish containing these two as main ingredients,it will turn out to be double damaka and kids will absolutely love it..Go through the note section at the end of the recipe where I have shared some of my experience while preparing this dish.

Let's get started!!

Ingredients:

Potatoes boiled - 5 Nos
Cheese - 2 cubes or 2 slices . (I used Amul cheese)
Red chilli powder - 3 tbsp
Pepper powder -2 tsp
Turmeric powder - 1 tsp
Asafoetida - 1 tsp
Corn powder -2 tbsp
Besan flour - 3 tbsp
Coriander leaves

Procedure:

1)Boil the potatoes and peel off the skin

2)Smash the potatoes

3)Add the cheese(cut it into small pieces or grate it) and add to the mashed potatoes

4)Now add red chilli powder, pepper, turmeric powder, asafoetida and chopped coriander leaves.

5)Add corn flour and besan flour and mix everything well

6)Make small balls out of it

7)Keep oil in kadai(frying pan) ready for frying and fry the balls in batches.Place the fried balls in a tissue paper and once the oil is dried, serve it hot.

Note:

1)I used Corn flour as well as besan flour so the balls don't break while frying and it is crispy.
2)Ensure that the oil is hot before frying else the balls will break.Once you start frying keep it in medium flame or low flame.Depending on how hot the oil is, lower or increase the flame
3)Don't over fry it
4)You can also coat it with bread crumbs before frying
5)You can also add oregano, chilli flakes to the mixture.
6)You can choose to vary the quantity of chilli powder, salt, pepper as required depending on how spicy you want it to be.If there are kids who will be consuming it try to keep spiciness  minimal.
