Curry leaves (Karuveppilai) Kozhambu

We will see how to prepare Curry leaves Kozhambu. This is very popular in Tamil Nadu.As curry leaves is rich in carbohydrates, fiber, calcium, phosphorous, irons and vitamins like vitamin C, vitamin A, vitamin B, vitamin E, it helps in better functioning of the heart, fights infections and can enliven your hair and skin with vitality.With so many benefits,this is a must to be included in your diet.

Ingredients:

1)Urad dal 3 table spoon
2)Pepper 3 table spoon
3)Dried red chilies (small) 3 in number
4)Asafoetida - 1 teaspoon if powdered or 10 pieces if its not powdered
5)Fenugreek seeds - 1 teaspoon
6)Curry leaves 1 bunch
7)Tamarind- Lemon size soaked in water

Procedure:

1)Take  some oil in kadai (frying pan) and fry ingredients mentioned above from 1 to 5.
Note: Adding too much of fenugreek will result in bitter taste.




2)After frying the above ingredients,add curry leaves and fry along with other ingredients till there is no raw smell of the leaves

       
                                           


3)Now take these items in a grinding jar.



4)Grind it coarsely



5)In the meantime soak lemon size tamarind in water and start boiling the tamarind water



6)Now add the ground ingredients to the tamarind water and boil it until the raw smell goes away.

Curry leaves Kozhambu is ready!!
